The Ordem de Malta Clinic works closely with the Ministry of Health to support the implementation of key national health programs, including vaccination campaigns, nutrition screening, maternal care, and emergency response during major events.

In collaboration with the Ministry of Health and local partners, Ordem de Malta Timor-Leste conducted a high-impact two-day outreach in Batugade to strengthen essential community health services. The initiative combined advocacy efforts, such as HIV education and the "Walk the Talk" march, with comprehensive clinical care including vaccinations, oral health, and Rheumatic Heart Disease screenings. Through these dedicated efforts, the team successfully completed over 100 patient encounters, significantly improving access to maternal and general healthcare for the region's most vulnerable populations.

The Order of Malta’s high-level delegation, led by Grand Hospitaller H.E. Josef Dieter Blotz, conducted an official visit to Timor-Leste to strengthen bilateral partnerships and explore new avenues for healthcare collaboration. The mission included strategic meetings with the Minister of Health and the Vice Prime Minister to discuss future cooperation, including online professional development programs for local medical staff. Beyond formal diplomacy, the delegation toured mobile clinic sites and the Ordem de Malta Jape A Lem Memorial Clinic to observe frontline medical outreach and celebrate the clinic's 8th Anniversary of service to the community.

The Ordem de Malta team partnered with SSK Alas in Manufahi for a multi-agency outreach program funded by the Sunrise Joint Venture, including Woodside Energy, Timor Gap, and Osaka Gas. Over two days in October, a 15-member multidisciplinary health workforce successfully delivered essential primary healthcare services to 169 patients in the remote villages of Wesar and Weberec. This collaborative intervention successfully addressed critical health gaps by bringing high-quality medical consultations and support directly to these isolated communities.

Ordem de Malta Clinic collaborated with SSK Maubara to deliver essential healthcare to remote families through the national Programa Integradu Saude (PIS). This mobile outreach successfully treated 110 patients across all age groups, addressing a wide range of needs from pediatric care to geriatric consultations. The clinical team primarily managed cases of respiratory tract infections, viral illnesses, and chronic pain, significantly increasing medical accessibility for this underserved community.

In a powerful display of partnership, Ordem de Malta teamed up with the Alola Foundation and local health authorities for a multi-agency outreach in the villages of Manus and Naelebok in the municipality of Manufahi. Supported by the Sunrise Joint Venture - Woodside Energy, Timor Gap, and Osaka Gas, a multidisciplinary team of 24 health professionals delivered essential primary care to 266 patients over two intensive days in August. This collaborative intervention successfully bridged the gap in medical accessibility, bringing high-quality consultations and healthcare services to some of the most isolated communities in the region.

Our team participated in a two-week practical training course on Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC), facilitated by the Timor-Leste Police Development Program (TLPDP). Delivered by specialized trainers from Absolute Medical Response – Australia, the training focused on life-saving interventions in high-risk and disaster settings. This capacity-building initiative enhanced our ability to respond to emergencies alongside national and international partners, strengthening the country’s overall disaster preparedness.

Ordem de Malta clinic provided a dedicated ambulance medical team during the Defence Cooperation Program – Timor-Leste fundraising event, “The Dili Dozen 2025.” The challenge began at 3:30 AM and involved participants climbing up and down the steps of Cristo Rei a total of 12 times—a true test of endurance, determination, and teamwork. The event brought together participants from Timor-Leste, Australia, New Zealand, and other partner nations, united in support of a meaningful cause. All proceeds were generously donated to Ordem de Malta, helping strengthen our ongoing healthcare efforts across Timor-Leste.

During the World HIV Day 2024 celebration in Baucau, Ordem de Malta joined national efforts to raise awareness and promote HIV testing and prevention. In coordination with government health agencies and both local and international partners, our team provided technical and logistical support to the campaign.
